Your timing data should stay close to you.

This page explains how Advanced Stopwatch handles data across the iPhone app and website.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Overview

Advanced Stopwatch is an iOS app for repeatable timed activities. It is designed around local stopwatch profiles, explicit save decisions, and native iOS surfaces.

The short version: there is no Advanced Stopwatch account, and the app is built to keep your benchmark and run history data local by default.

Information Stored by the App

Advanced Stopwatch stores the benchmark profiles, benchmarks, laps, completed runs, benchmark changes, and app settings you create while using the app.

This app does not require an account. Your stopwatch data is stored locally on your device using Apple system storage. Advanced Stopwatch does not run its own server sync for your profile or run history data.

If you delete the app, the local app data may be deleted by iOS. Data you exported, shared, backed up, or stored through Apple services is handled by those destinations.

Health Data

Advanced Stopwatch does not read or write Apple Health data. The app does not request Health permission, and it does not collect heart rate, active energy, date of birth, or workouts.

Notifications, Live Activities, and Shortcuts

If you allow notifications, Advanced Stopwatch uses them for Benchmark Alerts, such as notifying you when the current lap reaches the saved Benchmark while the app is not in front.

Live Activities and Dynamic Island surfaces show the currently active focused run so you can return to it quickly. These surfaces are provided by iOS, and Advanced Stopwatch does not use a server push service to update them.

App Shortcuts and Siri actions may use details such as profile names, benchmark durations, and run state so iOS can perform the action you requested.

Website Data

The Advanced Stopwatch website is a small informational site. It does not intentionally set tracking cookies or include marketing analytics code.

Like most websites, the hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser user agent, requested page, and timestamp to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

Exports and Sharing

If you export a CSV or share information from Advanced Stopwatch, you choose where that file or data goes. Once shared with another app, cloud service, person, or device, that destination's privacy practices apply.

Security

Advanced Stopwatch uses platform storage and permission systems provided by Apple. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but the app is designed to keep your timing data local by default and to request sensitive permissions only when needed.

Your Choices

You can delete profiles and runs inside the app, delete the app to remove local app data, and change notification permissions in iOS Settings.
